I'm searching for the family of my gr gr gr grandmother, Sarah Ann Orange. I don't have much information on her.
I know that she did marry a Joseph Jackson sometime before 1825 and they lived in the Fayette Co. area of Pennsylvania.
She had 4 known daughters, Mary, Susan Ann, Sarah Jane, and Lydia Letitia. She also had at least one son, Thomas Jackson and possibly a second named Washington.
The family moved on to Licking Co., Ohio between about 1836 and 1840, and then on to either Coles or Crawford Co., Illinois by 1855.
According to the 1850 census in Licking Co. Ohio, she was born in about 1797 in CT. The death certificate of her daughter, Lydia says that Sarah Ann was born in Ireland. There are other references in paperwork of her children that also say she was born in Ireland, but it's not been proven.
I am told she is probably the daughter of a William and Elizabeth (Gibson) Jackson of Fayette Co., PA, but again it's not proven. I would love to know for sure.
If anyone has any information at all of Sarah Ann (Orange) Jackson and her birth, death or family please contact me or post.
