Val,

Those of us descended from that John Dodge, brother of Josiah, have had a heck of a time. He died in Ste.Genevieve in April, 1795. He was married to Anne Keen, but we do not know when or where or anything about her. They had at least 5 children, all born either on Kaskaskia Island or in/near Ste. Genevieve, Missouri:

Mary/Marie Dodge - 1783-1821
Thomas Dodge - b. 1785
John/Jean Dodge - 1786-1796
Isreal Dodge - 1791-1836 (my ancestor)
Theodosia Dodge - 1794-1878 (she is the one married to
Josiah's son, John Dodge)

Theodosia, Mary, and Thomas are fairly well documented. Isreal, something of a loner and roamer, is not, hence my struggle.
