Hi Debbie,
You have been so much help. I am wondering if the Thomas TOVERA or TOVREA mentioned in your above query that received a pension under the name TOVREA/TOVERA, is the same Thomas TOBERRY and/or Thomas TOVARY or TOVERY?

You mentioned a Thomas and Mary instead of Margaret in the 1860 McLean County census, how was the name spelled in that census?

This Thomas TOBERRY's name changed in 1866 to 1900 from Thomas TOBERRY to TOVARY to TOVERY.

This is what I have found:

1. 1866 (July 26) Thomas L. TOBERRY married Margaret E. HENSON, DeWitt, IL

2. 1870 Census Harp, DeWitt, IL house # 203
TOBERRY, Thomas 36, IL
Margaret, 32
Mary, 15
Clara D. 13
Emma, 11
Ida M., 9
Cora B., 3
Ambros B., 1

3. 1880 Census Leroy, McLean, IL
TOVARY, Thomas, 50, Il
Margaret, 43
Cora, 14
Ambros, 11
Lucy, 8
Mandy, 6
Ollie, 8
Ida Henson, 18 step-daughter

4. 1900 DeWitt, DeWitt County, IL

#24-24
MOORE, Charles J., head, 36, IL, farmer
Olive, wife, 31, IL
Fredie, 13, son
John, 12, son
Joseph 9, son
Lyle 7, son
Olive, 4, daughter
Irwin 2, son
MOORE, Howard, BROTHER, 22, IL

TOVERY, Thomas L., uncle, 71 widowed, IL, farmer

Thanks for your help.
Joan
