HI Joan,
This Thomas Toberry was the 4th son of my Rev Thomas (born 1791 in PA)& Mary McGehee Tovery/Toberry/Tovrea. Thomas L Tovrea b about 1833 McLean Co., IL, and d 15 Mar 1902 in either McLean Co or DeWitt Co., IL. was married twice -firstly to Mary Williams and they had 4 children, and after Mary passed he married Margaret E Henson and they had 5 children. On the 1900 census Thomas L Tovrea was listed as an uncle to and living with Charles & Olive Moore and their children in DeWitt Co., IL. The Moore/Tovrea connection was between Thomas L's brother Joshua Tovrea and his second wife Julia Moore. I believe that Charles Moore was a son to Julia Moore from her first marriage.

Thomas L Toberry was listed on previous census records as: 1860-Toverea, 1870 Toberry, 1880 Toviary and 1900 as Tovery. His Civil War records spell his name as Tovery/Tovary.

I do have more information on Thomas L and will post it if you wish. You can also find more in the archives for the TOVREA-L mail list at Rootsweb.

Hope this helps.
Gladys
