SPRAGUE/HOVEY Connection??

I am trying to solve a mystery in my family tree. In the 1930 Texas Twp. census I found my great grandfather, John P. Hovey living with Martin L. Sprague age 23 born in Illinois, his wife Evelyn and son Lester. My great grandfather is listed as an "uncle".

I am trying to put together the connection. Does anyone happen to know who Martin's family is?
