charlene, thanks so much for some census information. I had the 1900 and some of the 1880 census for DuPage Co. I never thought of spelling Schwerin like 1870 census. Christian and John came to Elmhurst, Illinois in 1872 from Mecklenburg and moved to Iowa in 1875. But, Frederick stayed in Illinois. John died on August 27, 1923 in Iowa. His obituary states
that his older brother died the Friday before in Elmhurst, Illinois. So in August, 1923, Frederick would have died. Can I get a copy of the obituary from the newspaper offices? Or where? Thanks again. Bonnie Bremer County, Iowa
