I have the marriage application for Sarah Ann Murphy & Helmuth Fritscher dated Dec. 1871. Sarah states her parents as David Porter Murphy and Rebecca Kagay.
I have found ancester info. on Rebecca Kagay except where she is buried. Died Dec. 19, 1852 approx. 5 months after Sarah was born. Sarah was raised by her maternal grandparents, Abraham Kagay & Sarah Hall. Sarah was a school teacher according to the Douglas, Effingham Co., Ill. 1870 census at age 17.
What I really would like is information on David Porter Murphy. Did he marry a Nancy? Who were his parents?
