Just returned to Florida after visiting Franklin county after being gone for 66 years. Visited downtown Macedonia where E.R.Sullivan shopping center stands. You can buy Snacks, Cigs & Soda and maybe an antique. The old Macedinia United Methodist Church still stands across the street from Sullican's. Got a picture of my Great grand father, Jeremiah Williams and great grand mother's tombestone behind the church. Also went to downtown Akin and shopped for a few batteries for my camera at the general store. I stopped by the site of my grandfather's farm that is now a corn field. (farm house burned down in the 1970's). The people are still friendly and it only took a few minutes to start talking with my old Southern Ill accent. Sure glad I made the trip.
