Pat,

The slaves were not listed by name in the 1818 Federal Census.

Below are the head of households with free blacks:

Houson              Isham       5              
Hubbard        Simon M       2
McCreery       Jno       3
Parsons              Jesse       1
Thompson       John       1
Wren              John       1

Major Lockleer, William Burnes, Elijah Burns, Stephen Burnes & Mason Crawford all were slave owners but none of their slaves were listed as "free". I think all of their slaves were imprted to work in the Saline Salt Works.
