Benton Evening News - Benton, IL (Franklin County)

18 May 1935
John Nelson Scarborough, prominent farmer of Ewing Township, was born in Franklin County, ILlinois on 14 Nov 1877, the son of Bennett and Nancy Jane Scarborough, and died this morning May 18th at Moore Hospital in Benton, Illinois. He married on 07 Oct 1900 to Minnie Lunsford. Left surviving are his widow, one daughter, Mrs Mary Pearl Beatty, wife of Willis Beatty; four brothers and five sisters: Mrs May Dillon, Mrs Ella Atteberry, Joe and Alva Scarborough, and Mrs Fannie Page, of Benton, IL; Mrs Alice Campbell, Mt Vernon, IL; Mrs Myrtle Goodman and Ben Scarborough, Centralia, IL; and William Scarborough, Pontiac, MI. Burial will take place at Shiloh Cemetery.
