Paige,

Sorry, I did make a mistake. Mary R Lunsford was born 22 Dec 1840. That first birth date I sent was for her son, Thomas, who is listed directly below her entry in the Ewing Cemetery Inventory. My eye skipped a line.

There is a little mystery to George Lunsford's death. It's covered in the newspapers but is kinda long to type. It seems that George married Charlotte, the young widow of James Page.
William Mace was tried for the murder of George Lunsford. It was thought that William gave George a piece of candy (after church) that contained strychine. William was enamoured of the Widow Page....so jealousy was the motive.

I'll copy the newspaper accounts and mail them if you would like them. Why don't you e-mail me privately at scad@pinehurst.net with your snail mail address.
