I am trying to obtain a copy of my parents marriage certificate. The problem is that I do not know the exact date they were married. I was born 07/31/1961 and I have been told that my parents ran off to Shawneetown, IL to get married after taking a bunch of slack from my grandmother. I was raised by my Aunt (my father's sister). My father is now passed away and my biological mother is up in age now and can't remember dates to well. Can anyone tell me where I can write to to obtain a copy of their marriage certificate and what the cost is? Do I need to have an exact date or do I need to hire someone to search for me. My father's name was John Howard Stephen Bone. My mother's name is Betty Mae (Acton) Bone. Any help is greatly appreciated.
