I do not know if this will help you or not. Your John W. Perkins was a brother to my grandfather William James Perkins who migrated to Missouri. Another brother, Stephen also moved to Missouri. I have no information on two sisters, Elizabeth and Margaret. Their father and mother, John G Perkins and Carolyn Inman both died early in the 1860's and the five children became wards of the state. There seems to be a step mother involved who took the property and dumped the kids. John G., (John W.'s dad,) was the youngest son of Stephen Perkins and Margaret Graves who were married it KY in 1802. They show up on the 1818 Gallatin Ill. census.

The only other informaion I had on your John W. is that he purchased property in Gallatin county and died there.
