Good to see this. My gmother Ollie Beresford's family is interrelated to the Gibbs and Stevensons. Jane Gibb married Andrew Beresford, ca. 1846. His father William Beresford is buried in Patrick Temple near Belfast. Jane Gibb immigrated to the US (Biggsville) ca. 1921. She is a gmother to Dixon Smith (name?) --now can't remember how I found him, that is, what forum. The Beresfords also intermarried with the Stevensons in N. Ireland. See Maureen O'Neill's and David Ray's entries on the Beresford family forum.
With this, I still have not located that parentage of my John and Margaret Beresford, although I think they're related to the Beresfords of Jefferson Co. OH, as we think Robert Beresford who settled La Salle Co. was from there. His sons John and Jmaes fought in the Black Hawk War. Many soldiers who fought settled in Henderson Co., was this was Black Hawk's territory. See Treat of Chicago for settlement of James's death, on line. Given the ages, John may have been a brother of William. But Maureen has visited the graveyard and Wm. is the only Beresford in it. I have her records. She's also on Facebook.
