Dear Barbara Baylor,
Does the Stevenson-Gibb book list any Beresfords? My gmother was Ollie Beresford. b. Biggsville, ca. 1887. Her gfather was John Beresford, age 28, 1860 census. w. Margaret, 2 sons James and ?. James married Mary E. Shook, Ollie's parents. John was from County Antrim, same as the Stevensons and Gibbs. I know the Beresfords and Stevensons were intermarried in County Antrim. Also Andrew Beresford, b. 1846, married Jane Gibb who immigrated ca. 1921 to Biggsville. Also see Beresford family forum.
Andrew's father, William, may be John's brother or other near relative. But he is the only Beresford buried in Temple Patrick cemetery outside Belfast.
All help in tracing John will be appreciated.
