Seeking this family's information. James Rhodes and wife Helen (Blaunt), both of NC, were in the 1870 census. They are buried on a hill top just before the turn to Devil's Backbone Park off of hwy 1. The children were born in TN except the last one, Joseph b. 1866 in IL so they probably came in the 1860's (another child was b. TN in 1862). I can't find them in the TN census of 1850 or 1860. Could have been mixed cherokee as indian oral tradition. They lived as hunters selling meat to the hotels along the MS River during the River boat days.
