We are looking for info on our father William Lowery of Jeff. Co. Ill. who married Viola Berry (Derryberry in Southeast Mo. in 1929. Our information shows William Lowery's Father as Jesse Lowery of Jefferson County, Ill. Our info tells us that William was orphaned at an early age and raised by famiily members.I recently found a Jesse Lowry, different spelling, of Jeff. co. born 1858, died after 1891, parents Jesse & Martha (Brookins) Lowry also of Jeff. Co. Ill., married 03/19/1857. This makes the time & location correct for our William Lowery's parents, so if anyone has info on a possible link or when, and if so, how the spelling of the surname name was changed, I would appreciate the help.
