Hi, I wanted to mention that the Graves Family Association, website address: http://www.gravesfa.org is organizing DNA testing of Male living individuals named Graves, who are interested in finding out more about their roots/genealogy through this new technology (The test costs $100, I believe) The John Graves family from Johnson Co. Illinois matched 25 of 25 markers with my William Graves family in Sumner County TN. We are now trying to figure out exactly how the 2 families are connected--this is a very close match, and indicates probably 1st cousins or sibling-type relationship between members of those 2 families in the 1700-1800 year range. I am interested in corresponding with descendents of this family. The info. we have is that a Graves (possibly named John) and wife came to Johnson Co. early (pre-1820), had 2 sons, John Jr. and Frederick and 3 daughters, Mary (md Randolph Casey), Sarah (md. William Elkins), and Millie (md. Henry Mathis) Thanks, Sara Notify Administrator about this message?
