The Ridenhower family in Johnson Co came from North Carolina about 1850 or earlier. They were in Union Co. IL before 1851. I don't know from which NC county they came. I know that some of the other North Carolina families that I have that came to IL, came from Guilford, Alamance, and Orange Co between 1820-1865. There were several waves.

Perhaps your Peeler's came with them?
