Hiram Dotson was married to Nancy Ann Randolph. They had three daughters, Elizabeth Ann Dotson, Rebecca E. Dotson, and Lucinda Jane Dotson. Hiram and Nancy moved from Illinois to Miami County, Kansas in about 1870 with their daughters' families, Clinton and Gay. Nancy A. Randolph died in 1876. Hiram remarried Phebe Towne in 1877 and died a year later. Hiram and Nancy are both buried in Paola, Miami Cty., Kansas.
