I am looking for someone to double check the date on a tombstone in Cross Cemetery. It is Thomas Forrest and has been published as "died 23 April 1856". However, I think it may have been misread and is perhaps 1846. In 1850 his widow Margaret Forrest is living with her children in Iowa and Thomas does not appear on the 1850 census anywhere in Illinois or Iowa. It would be easy to misread or mistype the year and it is important to me to find the true date.
