A message on the Christian County board asked if anyone could find an obit for Jane Wright married to George Wright from Pana. Turns out there was also a Jane and George Wright in Macon County. Both Jane Wrights died in 1914.

The Daily Review, Decatur, IL, 23 Apr 1914, pg. 14.

The funeral of Mrs. Jane Wright will be held at 2:30 Friday afternoon at the family residence, 437 Powers lane. The interment will be in Greenwood. Mrs. Wright was born in Ulverston, Lancastershire, England, July 6, 1838, and was almost seventy-six years old. She was married to Captain Goerge Wright in the fall of 1864, he having been mustered out of the service at Springfield in July of that year. Five children were born to them. Two children survive. they are Sherman Wright and Mrs. Florence Sutton, both of Shelby county. She also leaves a brother, Henry Turner, and a sister, Mrs. Annie Cherry, both of whom live in Washington. There are five grandchildren, Elizabeth Wright and Carroll, Murrell, Everettt and Clarence Sutton.

George Wright died 9 Dec 1906. He is buried in Greenwood Cemetery in Lot 45, Block 12. His muster record can be found at the Illinois State Archive website. His muster record says that he was a native of Yorkshire England. According to Ancestry.com, there is a pension application for George Wright also. He served with Company B, 14 IL US INF. in the Civil War. George Wright and Jane Turner were married in Shelby Co, IL on 29 Dec 1864 according to the Illinois State Archives website. I could not find an obit for George Wright, but found the following information about his estate.

The Daily Review, Decatur, IL, 11 Jan 1907, pg. 10.

The will of Captain George Wright will be probated Jan. 25. The will leaves to the widow half of the personal property and a life interest in the home place on Powers lane, and she also gets an income of $500 a year from the farm lands. The rest of the income is to be divided among the three children, John S. and Helena Wright and Florence A. Sutton. John S. and Helena Wright and Florence A. Sutton also get eighty acres of land each. Any property not specifically mentioned is to be divided amoung the three children mentioned, and the home place also goes to them at the death of their mother. To Mary Wright, another daughter by Mr. Wright's first wife is given $5.

Not related. My pleasure to help. - Pam
