The Daily Review, Decatur, IL, Wednesday 22 Nov 1911, pg. 12 Mrs. J. C. Roberts of Irving, ILL., mother of F. H. Wilcox of Decatur, died Tuesday night at St. Mary's Hospital in this city. She came here four weeks ago intending to spend the winter with her son in Decatur, but was taken ill and removed to the hospital. Mrs. Roberts was formerly Miss Margaret Jane Sivers. She was born Aug. 6, 1836, at Gililand Center, N. Y. She was married in 1852 to Hiram Wilcox, who was an engineer on the Big Four. He was killed in an accident in 1861. One son, F. H. Wilcox of Decatur, survives this union. Her second husband was James Ferris. One son, H. G. Ferris of Leavenworth, Kan., was born to them, and he also survives. He was in Decatur Tuesday, but went to Litchfield, and his mother died shortly after he went away. James Ferris, the second husband, died in 1858, and later Mrs. Ferris was married to J. C. Roberts of Irving. He died a year ago last May. Mrs. Roberts was a member of the Methodist church at Irving and had many friends there. Short services will be held at 10 o'clock Thursday morning at the Monson & Wilcox chapel. The services at Litchfield will be in the First Baptist church and will be conducted by Rev. Frank C. Reed of the Methodist church, assisted by the Baptist minister. The body will be taken to Litchfield Thursday morning and the funeral will be held there that afternoon. I'm not related. My pleasure to help. Note that 1st husband died after 2nd husband according to this obit. -- Pam Notify Administrator about this message?
