The party was to celebrate the 40th birthday of Whitmore Davidson. Among others who attended were Judge W. E. Nelson and H. C. Montgomery and wife, of Decatur. After the guests had all assembled at his residence, folding doors were thrown open, and there stood what every one saw at a glance was a bride and groom. The two persons were Miss Nora Combs and Frank Tomlinson. The young lady was charming in a white wedding gown with a profusion of flowers, while the gentleman looked both proud and happy in a complete suite of black. They stepped out into the room. Judge Nelson had been prepared and he at once married the couple, before any one had a chance to get breath. Only the judge, young people and Mrs. Davidson knew before hand that the wedding was to occur. A big birthday and wedding dinner followed.
