Did some more looking and found the following:
I believe the William R. Whittaker to be the brother of Sarah Ann Combs and the Susan Whittaker to be her mother. After seeing the family reunion notice I was able to look for the marriages of the girls. I hope this helps.

A. J. Combs has purchased the controlling interest in the Haskell telephone system in Haskell, Texas. Mr. Combs will have the management of the system, and will move his family to Texas either this fall or next year.

Another will that is in the process of being probated is that of Susan Whitaker. She was a woman who lived at Macon.
This will was made in 1883, twenty years ago. The executors named in it, William R. Whitaker and Jabez J. Combs are dead. There are three witnesses; James A. Cook, A. W. Biddle and Sarah A. Combs, all of theses are dead.
The will leaves to grandchildren Susie Webb and Ludie Webb, a lot and building in the town of Macon. To a daughter, Sarah Ann Combs, Is left lot 9 in block 11 in the town of Macon. The rest of the estate is divided among the children, Sarah Ann Combs, William R. Whitaker and Hattie P. Ford.

WHITTAKER’S SUDDEN DEATH.
Prominent Resident of Macon Expires Suddenly
William R. Whittaker, a well-known stock buyer and former clothing merchant
of Macon, died at his home in that city at 11 o'clock Thursday night.
He was 60 years of age and leaves a wife and five children. They are Belle, Jessie, Carl and Willie Whittaker of Macon and James Whittaker of Kansas.
It is said that. Mr. Whittaker had been under the influence of intoxicating liquor for several days and that on Thursday night he drank a number of bottles of lemon extract and that it was that which caused his death.
