I found an article in the Daily Republican published in Decatur, Illinois on 4 Apr 1889. According to the article Robert Montgomery was the secretary of the Decatur Greenwood Cemetery Association.

It looks like Mary A. Vanhouten,Benjamin's wife, filed a widow's pension application about August 7(or 17),1887. Are you sure you have the correct date of death for Benjamin?
