Joshua F. Harlow, grandfather of the man in your message, was a native of Jackson Co. Indiana, according to the Illinois Civil War Muster Roll. He married Melissa (Malissa) Kellum, daughter of Samuel and Louisa Kellum, on 21 Feb 1865 in Clark Co. IL. There is a Civil War Widow's Pension application for Joshua Harlow. They had two children, Maggie and Robert. After Joshua's death, Melissa married Richard R. Hurst (Hirst)on 4 Jan 1880 in Clark Co., IL. According to her obit, they moved to Decatur in 1882.

Melissa Harlow Hurst died in her home at 1044 West Charles Street in Decatur, IL on 3 May 1890, according the obit published in the Decatur Daily Republican on 5 May 1890, pg. 3. She was born in Clark Co, IL.

I think Maggie Harlow married Sam Meek on 17 Feb 1885 in Macon Co, IL. Robert Harlow married Nellie Reinhart (Rinehart) on 26 Jun 1894 in Macon Co. IL.

Not related. My pleasure to help. - Pam
