Azel Vickery was my ancestor. children 1. Bethira Vickery who married James Rouse moved to Marion County, Illinois. 2.Marmaduke Vickery who married Elizabeth Branson also moved to Illinois. 3. Richard Vickery who married Sarah E. ( ) moved to illinois and Texas. 4.Levi Vickery who married Nancy Ann Waldon in Marion County, Illinois. 5. Alcy Vickery who married Eli Waldon in Marion County, Illinois and Thomas Jefferson Atchison in Jefferson County, Illinois. 6. John Vickery.
I descend through James Rouse and Bethira/Bethia/Bethyer Vickery. I believe that James was Cherokee Indian and the son of John Rouse who is found in 1820 Rutherford County, TN census who was listed as Free People of Color. James & Bethira were married about 1827 in the Beford/Williamson/Rutherford County, TN area. James died between 1843-1850. Children of James and Bethira were Azel M. Rouse, Mary A. Rouse, Judah Adalaida Rouse, Martin R. Rouse, Richard "Dick" M. Rouse, Alfred Vickery Rouse, Marmaduke Rouse and James R. P. Rouse would appreciate any help. Michael
