Alfred B. Dobson (per his obit) died in Fremont co. CO in 1899 as the result of a railroad accident. Most of the time his name is listed as A.B. but it is also used as Arthur B.
In his obit, it tells that his mother and a sister lived in Meridian Mississippi in 1899. I found them (I think) and then followed them through the census from 1900 back to 1850.
The family I traced was from Marshall and Woodford co. IL,
Charles and Mary E. Dobson. Charles was born in Eng. and Mary E. was born in Kentucky. All the children were born in IL. Charles' mother, Mary, was living with him in two census.(1850-1860). There is a son Alfred in 1870 but in 1880 he is listed as "Frederick".
Can anyone confirm that Alfred belongs to Charles' family?
In 1840, there is a Thomas Dobson (age 50-60) living in Marshall co. IL. I don't know where he was born. He had 2 males and 2 females with him.
Can anyone confirm whether Thomas is the father of Charles?
