Clifton family of Toluca, IL

I am searching information on g-grandmother May McDonald. She was b MO 1876 according to Illinois 1990 census. Married to George William Clifton ca 1893 as first son Lester born 1895 Toluca IL.
She and George had 4 more daughters, Mabel b Spring Valley, IL in 1897, Pearl b Spring Valley, IL 1899, Bertha b in PA 1902 and my grandmother Mayme b Pawnee, IL 1905.

May left George just prior to 1910 census (1908?) and returned to MO. We understood it was in the Kirksville or St. Joseph area. Her daughters were placed in foster care after 1910 as George, a coal miner was unable to care for the girls and work. Lester was to have been killed in WWI but I have only found his draft card and no death info.

George was killed in mine accident 1930.

This is my brickwall and any help is appreciated.
Thanks you
