From the Lacon Home Journal, June 12, 1874 CORNELL-JONES - William Cornell, of Sparland, Ill., was married on the 24th day of May, 1874, at 9:30, a.m., to Miss Belle Jones, of Princeton, Ill., at the residence of the bridegroom's old and esteemed friend, D. T. Nichols, Wymet, Ill. Marriage ceremonies performed by Rev. W. K. Beans, officiating clergyman. There were only a few select personal friends invited. After church services the friends sat down and partook of an excellent dinner, which Miss Sarah Nichols knows so well how to get up on these occasions. After dinner the bride and groom called on the bride's uncle, (C. Jones, Princeton, Ill.,) and received a very pleasant reception and hearty congratulations; and on the next day - Monday - they returned to the bridegroom's uncle, (Amasa Garrett) and had another pleasant reception and congratulations - which is close to their future home. We wish them much joy and happiness in their new relation, as they are well worthy of it. - Bureau County Republican And so William has taken upon himself the vows of matrimony, and promises henceforth and forevermore to love, honor and keep in ovenwood the lady honored with his name. Miss Jones has done well. Her husband may not possess the polish of courts, but he has that which is infinitely better, a heart true as steel and soft and gentle as a baby. Our best wishes attend them. I'm not related, just had this copy. Notify Administrator about this message?
