Mary,
Capt. Williamson owned and operated a ferry about 1827 on the Massac/Pulaski Co. line. See "History of Johnson Co., IL" by Chapman, page 52.

I've been told that the earliest marriage licenses for Johnson Co. were kept in locked files & not recorded in the marriage record books. Recently many of their records were indexed. (circuit clerk's anyway)

You may want to try looking in Johnson Co. again.
