The Northwest Herald is the paper most people post obits to in the Algonquin area. http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~ilkane/Newspapers.htm
See this link to papers printed in the Elgin area. The Village of Algonquin is actually in McHenry County, but many residents live over the county line in Kane County.
