My husband and I were just down in Elizabeth and Galena,Illinois doing family research on the Lisk side. I am very confused now as we found diffrent names for this family. For Bert and Emma we found Bert's real name is James Burton Lisk and his wife who we thought was Emma Perrego is listed on her sons death certificate as Amey Belle Perrigo. While visiting the cemetery in Elizabeth we found the stone that says J.Bert Lisk and Amey Belle Lisk. And then we found Bert's brother William Lisk along with his wife's stone that says Emma Lisk wife of William. Does anyone know why Bert's wifes name is Amey when the census says Emma and why William's wifes name is Emma? Trying to figure out this side of the family only to be confused more.
