Seeking information on the family of DAVID L. SPENCER, born 1807, possibly in Middlesex Co., Connecticut. He married CLEANTHA CLARISSA BURR (1814-1866), daughter of DANIEL BURR and BETSY WILCOX, of Haddam, Middlesex Co., CT about 1831. She may have been his second wife. David L. Spencer, a carpenter, appears on the 1850 Fed census of Haddam, Middlesex Co., CT with his family, living next door to his widowed mother-in-law. Children of David L. Spencer : Franklin H, born ca. 1831/2, Austin W., born ca. 1834/5, Starkes [Starchus] M. , born ca. 1836/7, Levi B., born ca. 1839/40, Lyman W., born ca. 1841/2, Alonzo B., born 1847/48, and George Albert, born August 1853. The family moved to Durham, Hancock Co., Illinois about 1855 where David L. Spencer died about 1859.
