Regarding Bell family in Mattoon, Illinois -- When in grade school one of my neighborhood friends was Barbara Bell, only daughter of Robert and Dorothy Bell, and they lived in about the 1300 block of South 16th Street. Mr. Bell died suddenly at work, I believe for the NYCRR Co., and the Coles County death records show the date as 3/10/42; he was 32.
