Lucy was born in 1850 in Tn. and her parents were born there also.She married Henry Davis in 1870 in Pulaski Co.IL.
Her name on the IL. Marriage Record was that of "Lucy Bell" and why she used this name instead of "Lucy Bell Coy" is a mystery. The name on the back of her daughter Amanda's Marriage License as her maiden name was"Lucy Bell Coy". Both Henry & Lucy (my G.Grandparents)are in the US 1880 & 1910 Census as being mulatto but I have been told that she was more Indian than Black. According to the Probate File they both died in 1914 near Olmstead IL. No Death Cert. can be located on either person and I do'nt know the name of Lucy's parents. I do'nt have the means to search the Indian Records & would appreciate some one to do this if at all possible.I would like info on Lucy between when she was born in 1850 in Tn. until she married in 1870 in IL. THANK-YOU.
