Searching for descendants of Aaron Stackpole who lived for several years in OTTO TOWNSHIP, KANKAKEE COUNTY. Aaron was an older son Absalom and Nancy Markham Stackpole who lived in North Berwick Maine. He was born about 1785. In Everett S. Stackpole's book it was written that Aaron went west when a young man, some say, to Michigan. Others say he was lost at sea. Aaron actually went to Vermont and married. He had at least one son William A. born 9 Nov 1813(who married 1845 Angeline Moore in Kenosha WI). Aaron and wife Lydia lived for awhile in Racine WI. In 1848 he moved to OTTO TOWNSHIP, KANKAKEE COUNTY IL where he died at about age 90 in 1875. His wife at that time was Lydia Everitt (b. abt. 1800 NY) who died sometime after the 1880 census. It is not known if Lydia was his only wife. According to the 1820 census of New Haven, Addison CO, Vermont Aaron and his wife had 3 daughters who would have been born between 1810-1820 and 1 son. Aaron has not be located in the 1830 or 1840 census. Son William's descendants have been traced but nothing is known about other children.
