Hi Barbara,
Thank you so much; I can't tell you what this means to me and my family! Reading all of the information brought tears to my eyes! I hoped, but never really expected, to learn more than I had pieced together! I don't know much about searching things out; how do I go about getting a copy of my great-grandparents' marriage license if I don't even know where they were married? The draft form from WW I indicates that they were living in Peoria, IL, but my great-grandmother's family lived in LeRoy, IL. It appears that Mr. Hoffman married again sometime between 1920-1930; would there be some sort of divorce decree as well? We probably will never know that part of the story, but the information that you provided is exactly what we have always wanted to know!
