Hi Amanda, Oh, I am so glad that I was able to help your family with some new information! I wasn't sure if you knew anything about Francis' family, it didn't sound like you did. I can try to help you more........ Where do you live? Are you in Illinois? Usually, a couple would marry in the county of the bride if they lived in different counties. I would start with McLean County and the County Clerk's office is where marriage records are kept in Illinois counties. Peoria County is very close [I believe it adjoins] McLean County, Peoria City is within 30 miles of Bloomington-Normal, I think. Google "County Clerk McLean County, Illinois" etc. to find where to call for information on how much money to send. Sometimes you can order online using a credit card. Also, you could ask at the same time for a marriage of Francis G. Hoffman to Wilma L. Since she is Illinois born, along with her parents, he must have known her in Illinois. She could also be from Montgomery County. So 1st McLean, 2nd Peoria, 3rd Montgomery. But I really think you will find Hazel Gully's marriage in McLean County. Do we know what the "G" in Francis' name was for? Wonder if it was for Elizabeth Catherine's maiden name? I cannot find that marriage and I've been looking :-) These are the Texas deaths for Frank/Francis Hoffmans: Data Source: Texas Death Index, 1903-2000 Saturday, September 20, 2008 11:22:04 PM -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- View Record Name Death Date Death County Gender Marital Status View Record Annie Francis Hoffman 13 Aug 1963 Hunt View Record Clarence Francis Hoffman 31 Mar 1959 Falls View Record Francis Hoffman 14 Feb 1981 Harris Male View Record Francis Hoffman 28 Sep 1933 Stonewall View Record Francis Joseph Hoffman 10 Sep 1925 Bexar View Record Francis Kendrick Hoffman 23 Nov 1957 Jefferson View Record Francis Marion Hoffman 14 Jan 1925 Jones View Record Francis Wiliard Hoffman 24 Dec 1950 Harris View Record Naomi Francis Hoffman 3 Jan 2000 Tarrant -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- View Record Name Death Date Death County Gender Marital Status View Record Carl Frank Hoffman 16 Apr 1940 Denton View Record Edgar Frank Hoffman 28 Apr 1904 Bexar View Record Frank Hoffman 20 Apr 1985 Travis Male View Record Frank Hoffman 15 Aug 1966 Wichita Male Single View Record Frank Hoffman 7 Apr 1966 Navarro Male Widowed View Record Frank Hoffman 22 Sep 1965 Dallas Male Single View Record Frank Hoffman 25 Dec 1965 Dallas Male Married View Record Frank Hoffman 12 Jun 1965 Wichita Male Single View Record Frank Hoffman 13 Oct 1973 Bexar Male Single View Record Frank Hoffman 3 Mar 1964 Val Verde Male Married View Record Frank Hoffman 11 Jan 1964 Tyler Male Single View Record Frank Hoffman 9 Mar 1969 Runnels Male Single View Record Frank Hoffman Sr. 24 Dec 1949 Archer View Record Frank Hoffman 19 Aug 1949 El Paso View Record Frank Hoffman 14 Apr 1946 Harris View Record Frank Hoffman 14 Jul 1954 Potter View Record Frank Hoffman 6 May 1947 Travis View Record Frank Hoffman 7 Jul 1947 Washington View Record Frank Hoffman 8 Jun 1914 Bexar View Record Inf of Frank Hoffman 22 Aug 1919 Bexar View Record Frank Hoffman 29 Sep 1919 Bexar View Record Frank Hoffman 7 Jan 1925 Brazoria View Record Frank Hoffman 16 Jan 1927 Colorado View Record Frank Hoffman 23 Jun 1910 Dallas View Record Frank Hoffman 20 Feb 1919 McLennan View Record Frank Hoffman 22 Apr 1960 Harris View Record Frank A. That is where Tyler, TX is, I think. I wish I could think of a way to figure out his date of death, you can't possibly order all these certificates. But have you used the Social Security Death Index? It is online and free, just Google. You could put in each Frank/Francis date of death and check the birthdate, then check off that guy from the Texas death index as not the right one. I already checked for your Francis and he is NOT in the SSDI, so any of the above men who match in the SSDI can be eliminated. I can do this for you if you want me to. It should weed out many of them. And anyone who died before 1930 is not him, either, as he is alive in the census that year. Also, men with middle names which don't match your "G" can be eliminated. So there might not be so many left :-) I completely lost Ulysses and his wife Elizabeth Catherine after the 1910. They may have both died between 1910 and 1920; there is no death index for Montgomery County online before 1916, so if they died there it was before 1916. Let me know what else you would like to find out and I'll do my best. If you are in Illinois let me know and I'll try to point you in the right direction.
