Hi Amanda, Sounds like you are cruising on the Hoffmans! You could try contacting the public library in Litchfield [that's where the Montgomery County genealogy collection is at] and ask about having their cemetery books checked for your Hoffmans. They might charge a small fee, but it would be worth it. I am wondering here........Could Ulysses' name have been Ulysses S. Grant Hoffman? That way he would have both an "S" and a "G" middle initial. Could Frank have been Francis Grant Hoffman? There were still 11 Frank Hoffmans left in the TX death index, huh? Man. Of course we know he was alive in April 1930, so it would just be those Franks who died after that. Still 11? Maybe you can find online families to match some of those Franks at Ancestry trees, or maybe obituaries for some of the later ones. Just try contacting the public library in the county seat and ask if they have newspapers on microfilm and will they do an obit lookup if you have the date. That could eliminate a few more. Wait! I just remembered a new site I found, which is part of the LDS site at FamilySearch: They have the Texas death certificates! http://pilot.familysearch.org/recordsearch/start.html# We don't even know for sure that Frank died in Texas! Here is another place to check for online deaths and obits, etc. This is Illinois' page, but at the bottom of the page are links to the other states: http://www.deathindexes.com/illinois/ Do get a copy of the marriage license in McLean County. Information [including Francis' middle name, etc. could be on it! If he died rather soon after the 1930, Wilma may have remarried, and that may be why we aren't finding her as Wilma Hoffman. Let me know if I can be of any other help to you. I live in Northern Illinois, but can steer you in the right direction as far as records go. Happy Hunting, Barb Notify Administrator about this message?
