Hi there,

I used the sites that you gave me and found something amazing! I looked for information in Texas and IL about Francis, but instead I found his mother! All of the information matched, so I know that it is her! The great thing was that her father's name was listed! This was a death record from San Antonio; it appears that Ulysses--going by U. S. Hoffman on this form--was still alive because he is the one providing the information. She died in Apr. 1914 and was buried in Hillsboro, IL--Montgomery Co. where the family had previously lived. Her father is listed as Fred Hofacker. Since he was German, I am assuming that his name was really Friedrich. I have searced a few immigration sources, but it is hard to determine if any of the Elizabeth Hofacker's are mine because they do not list parent's names. She came in 1892 which would have made her 20. She then married Ulysses in 1895, and Francis was born in 1896. Still no additional information on Ulysses. Any ideas on how I could find where she arrived?

I am learning so much but, I hope that I am not bothering you with all of these questions!

Thanks!
Amanda
