Hi Amanda, How wonderful! I was hoping you would find Frank, but finding his mother is just marvelous; who would have thought she was in Texas. Good work!! I was wondering if maybe that is why Frank went there? He was there with parents and later went back? Found Ulysses d. in Peoria in 1945, use this link if you haven't already been there......... http://www.cyberdriveillinois.com/departments/archives/databases.html There are several Hofacker/Hofaker/Hofacre etc. marriages in Montgomery County, IL in the 1890's. A Rosa V. Hofaker married Reuben Gomes 4-14-1896 in Macoupin County, IL [adjoins Montgomery]. Wonder if these are siblings to Elizabeth Catherine? Also: Hofacker, E.K. to "Coffman", U.G. 1-17-1895 Montgomery Co. No wonder I couldn't find them getting married-COFFMAN! Took the Hofacker to find it :-) For immigration records check Ellis Island: http://www.ellisisland.org/ There are some immigration and passenger records at Ancestry.com, try all spellings of Hofacker and try the other Montgomery County Hofackers first names to search. Some Germans came in through New Orleans, not sure if this is online anywhere. I'm happy to help with whatever you need: nonna2three@comcast.net if you want to email direct.
