Our information is sketchy on Grandpa. My mother and my aunt think he was married once before he married my grandmother. We do know his father's name was George Henry Jones and our information shows Amanda Ann Hancock was his mother. I have the date of Sam's birth which I will send in a followup post, I just returned from a trip and all my records are still in my car. Sam had 2 brothers - George and Albert and one sister Annie. Sam had 3 children with my Grandmother whose name was Lona Bell Nicholson. Lona and Sam's children were: Juanita Marie, Rosie Lee and Doyle Julian.
Grandpa was in both the Army and the Navy at 2 different times and his military records indicate he was born in Litchfield Illinois but all our family documentation seems to indicate he was born in Fannin County.
