I'm looking for information on Sirena Bunch (I have also seen it spelled Serena and Cyrena), born in South Carolina 10/15/1788, died Perry Co. Illinois, 8/19/1865.
She married Richard Guy (1/15/1787 - 4/10/1853) on 2/22/1809 in Warren Co. Kentucky. He was the son of William Guy (1752-1824) and Nancy Mathis (????-????)
Both Sirena and Richard are buried at Spring Hill Cemetery in Winkle, Perry Co. IL. Sirena shows up on the Perry Co. listing for this cemetery, but her gravemarker is no longer there. Richard's marker still stands.
Among their children was William Guy (11/13/1813 - 4/1/1895) who married Louisa UNKNOWN. (11/7/1822-10/12/1904). They are also buried in Spring Hill.
Among their children was John Guy (5/1/1847-10/14/1924) who married Lucinda Allen (5/15/1843-5/2/1911) on 3/8/1866. They are also in Spring Hill.
Among their children was Anna Marie Guy (12/6/1871-12/8/1942), who married William Schaffer (1862-1949). Both are buried at the new Concord Baptist Cemetery, Rice, Perry Co., Ilinois.
And finally, among their children was my grandfather, John Melbourne Schaeffer (1893-1958) who married Edith Jeanette Williams (1896-1930), on 11/17/1915.
Any information on the origins of Sirena Bunch would be appreciated.
