Perhaps, Effie Alice Hughey was listed as Etta on the 1880 Butler County Census. I'm not sure how reliable my cousin's data is, but he has listed both Ted and Fred; however, he has Frederick listed as the father of Charles H. Hughey (one point of controversy as Charley's grave stone marker identifies the parents as being Sadie Hughey's parents, not Frederick and Sadie). Charley was buried in Galum Presbyterian Church cemetery as were Effie's aunt (Sarah Stinson) and her uncle (Allen Thomas Hughey). Anyhow, Frederick and Sadie (double first cousins) married each other. Sadie was born in 1871 (to Allen and Sarah), was only 3 years older than Charles H. Having Frederick born in 1872, rather than about 1858 makes more sense. Frederick is not on the Jefferson County, Census in 1860, which undoubtedly he would be if her were born in 1858. I'm descended from an older brother (Henry Francis) who was born in the 1840's; he died in Kentucky in 1894.
Two of her other older brothers--Jasper and Walter--may have been killed in a riverboat explosion in Kentucky prior to the 1860 Census. I'm trying to locate the news article on that tragedy as well
