Searching for more info regarding my gg grandmother. Mary Ann Burton, b. in VA on 28 Feb 1840, m. Jonathan Cavins on 16 May 1860 in Perry Co, IL, d. 2 July 1927 in Franklin Co, IL. Her obit says that her mother died when she was young and her and a "small sister" went to Illinois when she was 15. After a few years, all contact was lost with other family members. When Mary Ann was 15-years-old, Luvisa (see info below) would have been 7-years-old. That might qualify her as that younger sister. Does anyone have further info on a Luvisa Burton, such as brothers and sisters? Also, the mother listed below for Luvisa would have died before Mary Ann or Luvisa were born. I'm wondering if Jabez might have married a second time. The time and places where these women lived says they quite possibly may have been kin. More information is needed. Thanks for your help in advance. G. Diane ******************************** Name: Luvisa (Burton) Lively Sex: F Birth: 16 JUN 1848 in Illinois Death: 1929 in Perry County, Illinois From the Rosan book... "Luvisa must have had at least one brother, because I can remember mom stating that she had an uncle in the Civil War, who was captured by the Confederates and held at Andersonville prison. He was made cook for the camp, and the only way he survived, was to steal one bean from each of several prisoners' allotment for the day."
