Frances, I'll post here until you can give an all-clear on your e-mail situation.

I too have the "History of Missouri" info and agree that Jacabo, Jacques are the same person. Houck says this fellow was the son of Nicolas Noiset dit L'Abbe of Cahokia, who married Marie St. Yves in 1758. The way that info is written it appears to leave the idenity of Jacques's mother open. As least it doesn't firmly say he was the son of Nicolas and Marie. That might be a detail to keep an eye on. Anyway, that Jacques married Theresa Beaugeneau.

Then Houck says another descendent was Francois Noise. But, he doesn't clearly say he was a son. So, again I think it's something to keep an eye on.

I have some sites where I picked up some info on the history of Jacques's house. Have you seen those? I will link them to you if you wish.

My thought is we need to first try to determine by name and birthdate all the possible children for both Nicolas and Jacques.

I only have what Houck provided in the info above. Will be searching all of my files on other French Canadian families
for any version of Noise and L'Abbe.

Back to my bus...Linda
