Hello Phil,
My apology for taking so long to reply. I have not been able to determine if they are brothers or otherwise relatives but I strongly suspect they are. According to a parish marriage registry of St. Andrew's-Leyland, Lancashire,England 1836, James Roscow was of Whittle and Maria Palmer was of Preston. St. Patrick, Ruma.IL burial record for James Roscow 1879 states "filus Joannis". My interpretation is "son of John". I would like to know more about Joseph's family. I am descended from James.

Bernice
