What I know about Colonel William Alexander was that he was from Ohio. He got his title from the Indian Wars. He lived under the bluff in Monroe County, Illinois (a neighboring county of Randolph. His wife was Mary who married Samuel Bailey of Monroe COunty, Illinois and then Levin Cropper of Cooper County, Missouri (formerly of Randolph County, Illinois). She is married is Cooper County, Missouri. She had children of Elizabeth nee' Alexander Jewett (husband of Gilman Jewett) and Sarah nee' Alexander Rader (husband of John Rader), and a son. Coloniel William Alexander was in SE Illinois Politics.
